Rockliffe Hall sinks competiton with £500,000 bathroom brief

Rockliffe Hall, the stunning new hotel, golf and spa resort being developed in Hurworth near Darlington, has revealed further details on the luxurious lengths it is going to in order to pamper guests.

More than £500,000 has been spent on kitting out each of the 61 guest rooms with the very latest and most high class bathroom equipment, including Villeroy and Boch basins and toilet systems and stunning new German-made shower units.

Doncaster-based luxury bathroom specialists, Utopia Contracts were tasked by Rockliffe Hall to supply the very best and most contemporary bathroom furniture, but still fitting in with the 18th century country house setting.

Nick Holmes, managing director of Rockliffe Hall said: “We want every single element of Rockliffe Hall to make our guests say ‘wow’. That includes the furnishings in the rooms, just as much as the breathtaking new golf course, the vast new spa or indeed the exemplary service which everyone will receive from the moment they arrive at the resort.

“Utopia contracts understood this completely when providing the solution to our demands to make the very best bathrooms possible. Once complete, they will simply stunning.”

As well as Villeroy and Boch sanitaryware, the rest of the bathroom fit-out reads like a Who’s Who of contemporary European design. Dornbracht taps have been added to the German specialists’ xTool ‘rain style’ shower systems. Kaldewei oversized baths and Keuko bathroom accessories complete the list.

Utopia contracts manager, Ian Dutch, said: “We have vast experience in supplying some of the UK’s best hotels with their bathroom requirements. However, I have to say that the brief from Rockliffe Hall was one that I have very rarely seen on any new development.

“There was simply no stone left unturned in the lengths and detail they wanted to go to and that has been highlighted in the completed solutions. Every detail has been addressed and I think I can safely say Rockliffe Hall has some of the swankiest toilet roll holders in the North of England!”

As well as a 61 bedroom hotel, Rockliffe Hall will also house a stunning new 50,000 sq ft spa and fitness facility as well as a 7,800 yard golf course. The course is expected to be the first of the new facilities to open its doors in June 2009, with the spa and hotel opening later in 2009.
