Progress update: Sept 07
Work at Rockliffe Hall continues at pace and, now several months into the construction of the golf course and hotel complex, things are starting to take shape.
Our main focus of attention at this early stage of development is ensuring the golf course reaches its critical phases at the right time of the year. With some awful early-summer weather, keeping on track has been a tough task. However, it’s pleasing to see already that the ground really is starting to resemble the basis of a challenging golf course and not just a construction site.
The ground work for our state-of-the-art driving range and practice area is under way too. So far we remain on target to have work completed on that in the New Year.
Away from the course, demolition of some of the dated outbuildings surrounding the main hall is due to start later this year.. Meanwhile, our construction partner Shepherd Construction has started restoring to their former glory some of the fantastic stained-glass windows which adorn the main building.
This attention to detail right the way across the development is going to make Rockliffe Hall a standout location that blends great history with luxurious and contemporary additions. It will be a must-see development for all visitors, not just from the region but from across the UK and further afield.
Finally, a recent visit from the Health and Safety Executive returned a clean bill of health on the work so far. All our partners are pleased to report there have been no accidents ” it’s a statistic everyone is very proud of and keen to maintain throughout the works.
More updates on our progress will be posted on this site in the coming weeks and months.
